hi.

just wanted to say sorry for your loss of Zeke. (and sorry to all the others who have lost their dog/dogs to cancer). it is devastating.

i lost my little dog to lymphoma. when she was diagnosed i was crushed. she passed three and a half weeks (filled with lots of love, comfort and chicken) after diagnosis.

there's not a day since i haven't stopped thinking about her. she will be greatly missed.

So, so sorry for your loss. Zeke was a beautiful yellow labrador, who reminds me so much of our beloved yellow lab, Ralph...who also died of cancer around the same age. Ralph was a big boy too, and also gentle...he thought at times he was a lap dog.

I found this website after our Ralph died, and it helped me a lot through the grieving process. I realized immediately, I wasn't the only one suffering from losing a pet from this horrific disease. I had never lost a pet to cancer, and never realized how prevalent it is in dogs.

I know you will forever cherish your memories of Zeke. When you treat a dog, like a member of the family...there is no purer love.

Although there will never be another Ralph in our lives...we recently added a new member to our family. A little yellow lab puppy...whose growing really fast and actually is not so little. We didn't do it right away...we waited a few months...but finally realized, for us, we needed to let another loving animal into our hearts.

Thanks for posting your beautiful dog and story...

Strength,
Cynthia - Ralph Fisher's Mom

My Zena, 4 year old Boxer, is just beginning her Battle with Lymphoma and Hypercalcemia. I, too, have decided not to treat her... but, as you said, TREASURE the TIME we have together. It has been 6 weeks since being diagnosed. Prednisone has worked very well, lymph nodes are normal size for now and water comsumption is greatly reduced.

Thank you for sharing your story.
