CCA joins forces with National Canine Cancer Foundation

May 1st, 2006 · No Comments

It is with
extreme pleasure that we announce our alliance with the National
Canine Cancer Foundation. The National Canine Cancer
Foundation
is a nationwide, contribution
funded, non-profit corporation dedicated to eliminating cancer as a
major health problem in dogs by funding grants for the scientific
efforts of cancer researchers who are working to save lives, find a
cure, find better treatments, find more accurate, cost effective,
diagnostic methods in dealing with cancer, and diminishing dogs’ suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and
service.
We at Canine Cancer
Awareness are proud to join forces with the NCCF in combating this
disease. We understand that as important as our presence is in
raising awareness and funds to help those battling this
disease, it is equally important to ensure that research continues
to enable our dogs to have healthier, longer lives. It is the wish
of both of our perspective organizations to see that one day no
dog suffers from cancer again. We have added a page on our web site
specifically dedicated to the National Canine Cancer Foundation.
There, our visitors will be capable linking to their web site
directly and, if they so choose, donating to the National Canine
Cancer Foundation to ensure that research continues. We will also be
adding any updates from the NCCF regarding breakthroughs and current
clinical trials onto our newly formed NCCF
page
.
Once again, we are
humbled by the efforts of Ane Morales who has once again donated to
CCA in memory of her Fatty. As our supporters may
recall, Ane was selling “Friends of Fatty” bracelets on Fatty’s
web site while Fatty was battling lymphoma.
Want to help Canine
Cancer Awareness raise funds without actually opening your wallet?
You can, right from your computer. We are all familiar with the
popular search engine, Google. There is now a new search engine
formulated to donate funds to non-profit organizations. Go to this
address: http://www.goodsearch.com
, scroll down just a bit and then type in
Canine Cancer Awareness where it asks which organization you are
supporting. You will then navigate back to the top of the page
where you type in your search topic just as you are accustomed.
The search engine is powered by Yahoo. For each search initiated,
CCA will receive .01. This does not sound like much but if CCA can
generate 10,000 supporters and have at least 2 average searches per
day, the estimated revenue is $73,000 a year. This would go a long
way to help dogs living with cancer. Please use it faithfully and
tell all of your family and friends. Use it wisely, as
fraudulent searches will result in our charity being
unlisted.
Sales of our logo pins
and dog tags has generated much interest. Please keep those sales
coming. We have experienced a wave of inquiries
and requests from newly affected owners on how to obtain
financial assistance. We would like to be able to help all those who
have completed an application.
To those who donate to
a specific dog (either in honor of or in memory of), a certificate
of acknowledgment will be mailed to that dog’s owner. When
available, a photo of the dog, who’s named in the donation
that has been made, will be included in the certificate. Please
include the owner’s address when donating.
